Cultivation & Care Tips
Sowing & Germination: Direct sowing takes place from mid-February to July in situ. Cover the seeds only lightly with soil. Carrots germinate unevenly within 1–2 weeks, depending on the temperature. Important: Keep the seedbed consistently moist during the germination phase.
Location & Soil: Choose a sunny spot with deeply loosened, humus-rich, and ideally sandy soil. Avoid over-fertilization, as this can lead to leggy growth ("forking").
Pro Tip for Pest Control: Plant carrots in a companion planting system with onions. The scent of the onions keeps the carrot fly away, while the carrots, in turn, deter the onion fly. A true organic dream team!
