Cultivation & Care Tips (Pot Culture & Raised Bed)
Sowing & Germination: Tomatoes and chilies need warmth and should be pre-grown indoors from late February/March. Radishes and sunflowers can be sown directly into pots or raised beds from April.
Location & Soil: A sunny and sheltered spot is ideal for balconies or raised beds. Use high-quality, peat-free organic vegetable soil, as nutrient availability in pots is limited.
Tips for Pots: Make sure there are drainage holes at the bottom of the pots to prevent waterlogging! Since planters dry out faster, ideally water in the morning and evening on hot summer days.
Bee-friendliness: Sunflowers and flowering basil visually enhance your balcony and at the same time attract valuable pollinators like bees and bumblebees.
