Cultivation & Care Tips

Sowing & Germination: Herbs can be pre-grown indoors from spring or sown directly outdoors from May. Note: Basil is a light germinator (do not cover seeds with soil!), lightly cover parsley and chives with soil. Keep moist until germination.

Location & Soil: A sunny to semi-shady spot is ideal. The soil should be loose and rich in humus. Basil particularly loves warm and sheltered conditions.

Care & Harvest: Water herbs regularly, but avoid waterlogging. Harvesting can be done continuously throughout the summer. Tip: If you let parsley and chives flower, bees and insects will appreciate the valuable food source!
